Job Description
z/OS systems programmer will be part of a team that manages and supports IBM Systems Z hardware and software; provides primary support for mainframe related issues; manages lifecycle of IBM zOS environment, including 3rd party software, and provides support for various SEI business and technology units. You will work in a 24/7 highly available, on-call, large-scale z/OS Mainframeenvironment.Participation in after-hours support rotation is required.

What you will do:

  • Work collaboratively with Service and Developmental teams to build and support production processes.
  • Work with various internal teams around software releases, new products and ongoing testing.
  • Manage mainframe backup and recovery processes.
  • Participate in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning, testing and execution.
  • Provide detailed root cause analysis, workarounds and/or permanent solutions for recurring issues.
  • Provide support for all stages of customer implementations and/or related projects.
  • Maintain mainframe architecture and strategies to ensure performance, availability, integrity of SEI systems.
  • Monitor and improve system performance and capacity utilization to provide availability and achieve customer SLAs.
  • Apply and support IBM software maintenance, Service Desk solutions and applications
  • Apply and support software maintenance of 3rd party software packages, primarily Broadcom

What we need from you:

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related field orequivalent work experience in the Information Systems field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in IBMMainframe technologies, CICS, MQ, SMP/E and general IBM mainframe systems programming, financial services a plus.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience maintaining 3rd party software packages on IBM mainframes including Broadcom-CA.
  • Project management experience, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Customer service and client management experience.
  • Ability to identify and resolve/escalate problems
