Transportation Construction Inspector, Supervisor & Manager (TCI, TCIS, TCM)

RK&K is currently seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors, Supervisors, and Managers (TCI, TCIS, TCM) for PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and Municipal highway and bridge projects throughout South Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. This is a field position that will work primarily at a construction site in either PennDOT Districts 8, 6, or 5. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of inspection experience including roadway and structure, construction methods, materials, standards, and specifications.

RK&K also hires those with related experience such as contractor, military, and surveyor experience.

Job Requirements:

The minimum requirement for Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI):

  • One (1) year of experience as a PennDOT Technical Assistant.
  • Or (2) two years minimum of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience.
  • Or (4) four (4) years minimum of highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience, and non-inspection personnel must successfully complete the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules.
  • Or Possess a Transportation Technology Construction Inspection certification received through an accredited Technology program approved by the Department.
  • Or Holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in a non-Civil Engineering field and must successfully complete the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules.
  • An Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management can be substituted for experience.
  • A B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or similar can be substituted for experience.
  • A Professional Engineers License (PE) can be substituted for experience.

Additional requirements:

  • NICET Highway Construction Level 2 or higher preferred.
  • NECEPT Asphalt Field Certification preferred.
  • ACI/PennDOT Concrete certification preferred.
  • Experience using PennDOT ECMS v3 and PPCC preferred.
  • Experience performing field inspections for various roadway and bridge construction projects preferred.
  • Ability to use an electronic tablet and computer and Microsoft Office products required.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites in different types of terrain and weather conditions.
  • Ability to work day and/or night shift, based on the type of operation taking place.
  • Ability to multitask project assignments and to work independently with limited daily oversight.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with staff, clients, and contractors.
  • Applicants must have their own vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Pay Rate: $22.79 - $41.19 / hour

Pay rate depends on experience level. Mileage for duty-related driving will be reimbursed.
