As a Product Design Lead at Alight, you will play a significant role in enhancing employee experiences for our 26 million users and their families. Your responsibilities will include leading the development of transformative enterprise products. Your expertise in design and user experience will contribute to maintaining high standards of quality and innovation at Alight. You will collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to ensure that user needs are integrated into design strategies and solutions. A comprehensive understanding of strategy, usability, interaction, visual design, and execution is essential for success in this role. This role requires occasional onsite from our office located in downtown Chicago so only considering candidates local to Chicago IL at this time.

Key Responsibilities:

Building and leading a talented, diverse, and inclusive team of product designers, fostering a culture of design excellence.

Leading the user experience of products from conception to launch, promoting a culture of design and driving projects with efficiency and quality, contributing to the organizational culture.

Collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment, facilitate problem resolution, and enable joint decision-making regarding product goals.

Exploring innovative solutions and applying design to create new strategies, systems, and potentially new business ventures.

Driving the design process for new features, translating conceptual ideas into valuable products while maintaining alignment with project goals, design standards, and a focus on simplicity.

Developing and delivering design deliverables and documentation to inform and evolve design standards, including user flows, information architecture, sketches, wireframes, and visual design.

Advocating for users and providing thought leadership on interactive product experiences, pushing the boundaries of technology and team capabilities.

Knowledge, Education, Certification, Skills & Technical Proficiencies:

Experience working on large-scale, complex projects across multiple teams.

Contributing ideas to develop or improve products and services. Understanding, contributing to, and if necessary, challenging project premises, goals, and requirements.

Engaging in collaborative exercises to generate ideas and build consensus.

Fluency in best practices for information architecture and interaction design, as well as strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques.

Expert knowledge of the end-to-end iterative product design process. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to specify and develop solutions.

Work Experience:

8+ years of experience as a UX/Product Designer in relevant industries, working with multidisciplinary teams in Agile environments.

Previous design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance. BS Graphic Design, Visual Design, Communication Design, Human Factors (HCI), or a related field; MS a plus.

Experience designing and shipping applications or software across various platforms. Experience representing work and design direction to broader product teams and leaders, articulating goals, concepts, and decisions based on user and company impact.

Hands-on prototyping experience with tools such as Figma and HTML/CSS.

A strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methods. Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods and the application of insights.

Self-starter, with the ability to drive projects forward autonomously. (Bonus) Experience in Healthcare Tech, Fintech, or Mobile App design. (Bonus) Familiarity or experience with Animation creation or accessibility design."

Salary Pay Range

Minimum :

90,200 USD

Maximum :

143,100 USD
